A kitchen is no longer the place where the lady of the house cooks out of sight and prepares hidden menus for loved ones or guests. Kitchens are the new, true centerpieces of apartments and houses. They are the most important meeting places for families and the most casual reception counters for friends. Well positioned, they are visible and central for cooking, slicing and plopping.

The right positioning of the functions in the room is crucial. The lady – and gentleman – of the house has eye contact with the dining area from the kitchen, while everyone is chatting and bubbling all around. The cooking block forms the new center of the entire area and is also used like a piece of living furniture. On the window side, there are work surfaces and sinks that benefit from daylight. The proximity to the existing dining room and the wooden fixtures, as well as the wooden floors and windows, determine the surface of the light, natural-colored oak. In terms of design, the kitchen thus ties in with the coziness outside. The worktop made of black mineral stone also corresponds with the slate floor of the existing building, thus combining old and new in an excellent way. The smooth, straight surfaces are given a lightness by the frame construction shown and the horizontal and vertical handle strips, which visually reduce the volume of the cabinets. In addition, the black plinth makes the kitchen appear to float in the room.
