Wherein the domestic architecture was good at in the past, was to give a room to the sense of beauty and today the new „Lemsahler“ can give it, too. Delicate dishes can be served here and this enjoyment is in no way inferior to the optical enjoyment.
From the treasure chest of the museum for „Hamburgische Geschichte“, the ceiling motive from house „Grimm 31“ was allowed to take out. A photo documentation of the „underneath the ground painted“ floor boards from the second half of the 17th century was provided by the restoration department. Thereof two motives were reconstructed and reprinted as a wallpaper. The themes of these historical paintings reflect the enjoyable life of a Hamburger merchant and tell its story by using some derision and irony. Therefore, an unchanged contemporary topic. Here´s to the guests, who are still pleased at it after 330 years !
