“How much human interference can art take?“
Installation in the courtyard of the National Museum of Bavaria with Andreas Hoernisch
Munich
June 2004

For some it was simply a huge, beautifully lit lantern. For the ones who slipped in, it was much more. The concept behind the installation put “ordinary design“ of every day life in contrast to the “high-end design“ of the professional designers. The white glooming styrofoam facade and four oversized transparent illuminated screens on the inside stood for “chic&clean“. In contrast to that was the blackbox with a clip showing “doityourself“ – even on the inside. In conclusion, the average human always moves between these two extremes and design adapts to its user – in all its colorful appearances.
