Quiet rooms
18 new guest rooms
Jan 2020 – Jan 2022

The Schwäbische Bildungszentrum is a place of knowledge transfer and contemplation. Its guests are accommodated in rooms that radiate tranquillity and, with their minimalist design, focus on the essentials. Nevertheless, the fixtures and fittings correspond to the cutting-edge hotel standard in the four-star category.

The 16 new guest rooms in the renovated Altelierhaus reflect this attitude. The majority of the single rooms are nevertheless given a touch of sophistication by the installation of a bathroom cube, which adjoins the sleeping area through a tinted glass pane. In addition, either the washbasin or the WC is hidden from the room, depending on how the sliding door is placed in front of the two cabinets.

The rooms live from the clarity of the design language and the use of few but natural materials. The clear lines in the design of the carpenter’s furniture are underlined by indirect lighting elements in the furniture. The finely nuanced, tinted wall colours and the floor-to-ceiling textile curtains respond to the two different floors and the slightly different incidence of light.
